The very first Vogue Festival took place on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st April, and I was lucky enough to attend! The idea of the festival was to offer an insight into the world of the magazine; fashion, beauty, photographers, personalities and journalism. At Vogue Fest, readers and those who are passionate about contemporary style, gained exclusive access to the world’s greatest talent in fashion, art and photography.
During the festival, various sessions took place ranging from speeches from designers by the likes of Diane Von Furstenburg to a Q&A discussion with models such as Natalia Vodianova. The Royal Geographical Society, London, had truly been transformed-Vogue Style. From the chic lighting to the beverages bought at the cafe (rhubarb and carrot flavour…) along with the Vogue Magazine Cover wall, Makeup and Hair Stations, you really did feel like a true ‘fashionista’.
For me, the experienc
e of the Vogue Fest was somewhat entertaining; young girls in their highest of heels, at attempts to get noticed. Myself on the other hand – being 5ft 2- had sadly no chance! So instead, to counteract my feelings of failure, I delved into the prospect of being a model by getting my makeup and hair done by Vogue professionals. The Lip Station- ‘Red my Lips’ meant almost every person at Vogue Fest looked like they had been eating too much beetroot. But how much time do you think they took to put on my red lipstick?? It was literally about 7mins! In reality, I would never have the patience to do it myself… so I think I’ll stick to a dab of rosé Vaseline…
All joking aside, I really do love a perfect red lip! Looking at Pinterest there are plenty of ‘boards and ‘pins’ to see why the look is so desirable.
Red Lips ooze confidence! So if one can pull it off, one should certainly give it a go 🙂
